Just wondered how often this occurs to people with liver issues?
I sometimes itch until my shins bleed and they get covered in what looks like scratches and red blotches . I also get the same in hotspots on my body and again looks like red blood scratches. It could well be eczema
Going back 3yrs I had a fibroscan of 4.6 and non fatty liver but I’ve continued to drink on and off. Having an off switch can be a challenge at times, but I stay health and fit to try counter some of this. Drinking makes me more anxious and brings on severe sleep issues - never been a good sleeper but drink definitely worsens it
Also thinking about doing “one year no beer” online sessions to motivate me to stop.
Any thoughts welcome
Thanks

Also to add, my partner's itching is pretty permanent now he has decompensated cirrhosis. But prior to that, was always worse when drinking alcohol. Abstinence is the only way forward with cirrhosis. His bilirubin level is way high, although with at least 4 months abstinence is reducing slightly, and jaundice is definitely a factor with itching. If you have a chance to stop drinking completely, take it. Sorry. Life is tough right now, K
I got a question. Can you read the post I put on a little while ago and tell me what you think
Hi Peter007.,I am new to this, but I have also got a rare skin complaint called PLEVA which also itches..and was told to use a cream called Balneum Plus which helps, but it is expensive.
My back itches, that started when I was put on Carvidarol. Spots as well,I have to go to bed with a long metal spoon to itch my back, you know the ones you use to serve vegetables!!
