Hi. Sorry to be back asking questions again. Can I check, it says on the BLT website that a sign of cirrohsis is spider veins above the waist - does that mean when they are lower they aren't? I have red blotchy palms and have been getting some abdo pain, plus pale (not completely white nails). However, as per my previous posts I've now had 3x clear bloods including LFTs, an ultrasound and an MRI on my liver, which found a bengin cyst but nothing else untoward. Last night I felt really itchy all over, so went to put lots of moisturiser on this morning and noticed some broken thread veins on my feet. Can I be assured this isn't yet another sign? I want to trust my results.

Worry about new "symptoms"
Thread veins and spider veins are nothing to do with liver disease.
The things that can appear above the waist and can 'sometimes' be related to liver disease are called spider naevi or spider angioma - these are totally different than normal thread veins/spider veins.
Spider naevi have a central red and raised body with thread like legs spreading from the main body. Even the presence of spider naevi doesn't confirm any liver issue.
This is a spider, looks like a red blemish. I get them popping up here and there, I have one or two on my face too!
Sorry, I tried to send you a picture but it won't let me.
No problem Kevin. I have googled (bad, I know) and seen them. These on my feet are blue veins, so not the same. I'm sorry to hear they plague you. I've got an appointment with a nurse at the GP's, going to mention about the pale nails and itching, and hopefully get to the bottom of it. Thanks again
