Hi Seoe,I don't know if things are very different in the UK (I am in the States) but it is so hard to get straight answers now without being your own advocate and following up with the doctor or their nurse. That's what l would do! Please let us know what kind of help you need (no one can tell you what the specific values mean because we are not doctors, but there are a few members who have taken special courses/have specialized knowledge due to experience). My liver and spleen are both enlarged for example, but I don't know what effect, if any, it has on my current health.
The best advice I can give is talk to your Hepatology team - I find it helps to write down your questions before your appointment and will stop you forgetting what it is you want to ask.
Also, the British Liver Trust has some very nice and helpful specialist nurses available to talk to and they have met all the issues before and will be either able to help you or point you in the right direction.
My dr has not indicated that she’s taking it any further. She said You knew you knew you have got fatty liver from the last scan watch what you eat. That’s all that’s it.
How do you feel? If you feel physically ok but stressed by worrying about your liver health then she may well be right. If you feel ok then you probably don’t need to worry and a change in lifestyle my be all you need.
If you are having problems with your diet your can ask to be referred to a dietitian who will be able to guide you and suggest an appropriate diet that will improve your health. I found the dietician to be most helpful in improving my health.
You could also consider requesting counselling - the waiting list is long (unless you go privately) but from personal experience I found the counsellor to be very helpful in improving my mental health and moving forward with my life.
There are some very good guides on line - as long as you pick reputable sources - on how to manage and improve a fatty liver health. I assume it is not alcohol related so is often called non alcoholic fatty liver disease and with good eating and exercise is reversible.
Easy to say but try not to worry, stress will only aggravate the situation. Look after your health; if it is up your street there is lots of guided on line yoga which can help reduce stress. Otherwise just getting out the house for walks will help.
I hope you find a solution that works for you - Peter
