It's certainly possible your liver isn't very happy. The only way to find out for sure if your symptoms are liver related is to go and see a doctor for some tests.
The BLT has excellent guidance on alcohol related liver disease at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

p.s. have you been a member before and rejoined? Perhaps just a similar name but rings a bell.
Hi and welcome,
The only way to know if you have any liver damage is to speak with your GP who can arrange some tests.
If you are in the UK and would like to have a confidential chat to one of our nurses our helpline is open 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday on 0800 652 7330

It depends on a lot of factors. How heavy is "heavy"? And how much were you drinking before that one year of heavy drinking? Depending on that, it can cause liver disease, especially if there are concomitant factors like obesity, poor diet, viral hepatitis, or use of liver-toxic medications like acetaminophen. On the other hand, nausea and diarrhea and psychosomatic liver pain can be caused by anxiety too.
Of course, the only way to really find out is to see a doctor. Until you do, I'd put down the alcohol, drink water, and swap out unhealthy foods with fruits and vegetables.
Hello drank ablit half a bottle of fireball a day. Before that only occasional drinker. I am not overweight or don’t have any conditions. I went yesterday to have blood taken now I have a huge bruise which is worrisome since I never bruised before have blood done. I should get results soon and I have an appointment for an ultrasound this Saturday. I’m just very worried with how bad the nausea and liver pain has been
That's good that you aren't overweight. If your diet is unhealthy and you've been sedentary, you could still have a fatty liver that is concomitantly due to alcohol and diet.
As Katie mentioned above, it is possible that your liver is not happy. Your drinking over the previous year sounds like roughly 70 units by UK measures, and 40 by USA measures (someone can correct me if this is not correct). It could be that it is fatty and inflamed from the alcohol within the past year. This does not necessarily mean that you have irreversible damage, especially since it has "only" been for a year. What it does more likely mean is that you will have to keep drinking to a minimum so that your liver can recover.
