15cm inflammatory adenoma and pregnant!

Hi all, hoping someone might be able to help?! Recently admitted to hospital with upper right chest and shoulder pain. Have had x ray, ct-scan and MRI and been diagnosed with inflammatory adenoma, and it's a big one! I'm waiting to see liver specialist in 2 days but wondered how likely surgery would be? I know its 'only' 2 days but still...

Currently 11 wks pregnant so more at danger of haemorrhage and assuming as it's large then resection is the answer. Sadly my health will have to come before the babies, which sucks big time, but is what it is.

Anyone had an adenoma this large? What happened? Am I more at risk of it turning malignant as it's so large?

Many thanks xx

Hi,

We do have some limited information on adenomas in our 'Benign tumours and cystic disease of the liver' publication;

britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

As you have already realised, it is important that you are closely monitored, especially as the risk of rupture is increased in pregnancy. Hopefully you are under consultant care? Please do direct your important questions to the specialist to get accurate and safe guidance.

Take care.
