Bit Freaked Out

I am a social drinker and my GGT has been above normal for a while. I did the dry January exercise and was confident about my blood test. GGT dropped which I was expecting but my alt went from 50 to 69 which worried me, does anybody know why that would be?

Well it has come down considerably since your last post but you appear to have continued to drink since then. Maybe if you continue your dry January permanently, it will come down that bit more to bring it to within "normal" range. Maybe your diet in general needs improving too?

When I first came on this forum with elevated ggt due to drinking my ggt actually went up after a dry 6 weeks , it took me months to see some improvement. All depends on how long you've been drinking.. don't expect instant results if you've been caning it for years.

If you have had a few sets of elevated liver bloods you may want to discuss having an ultrasound scan with your GP, that would offer more clinical information about your liver.
