My fibrascan keeps rising

Ok so I am worried now, 3 months ago I had a Fibrascan done and the results showed a high enough Fatty Liver Content ie 260, but a low enough Fibrous score ie 2, I have done everything by the book for 3 months, ie excercise, diet, no drink. Bloods all normal, today I had a rescan and Fatty content is well over 350 and my damage at nearly 7/8 ie 4 times what it was before. I am not on any medications but trying to work out what has happened, my consultant is going to come back to me when the nurse gives her the results, even she was shocked. Is this bad news, I keep thinking if it continues to move at this pace, I wont last. Maybe its Liver cancer? Any thoughts or has this happened to anyone?

Hi,

Are you in the UK? have your liver team advised you to have the fibroscans?

Its really important that whoever performed the fibroscan takes time to explain the results and then you speak to the doctor that ordered them to discuss matters.

Yes I was advised by my consultant, and will be speaking to her within the next 24 hours. I just wanted another opinion I guess, worried I guess.

Keep us posted. We hope your consultant can answer your questions. Best wishes.

I don't know if this helps, and I have only had 1 fibroscan, but my readings were shockingly high. The nurse repositioned and did it again. She explained that you can get false high readings but not false low depending on the position. The 2nd lot of readings were lower. I still came out with a fatty score of 400 and when I asked what out of she said 400! I also was diagnosed with cirrhosis.
