After having raised ggt and alp for over a year I finally went for a fibroscan, went private in the end as had waited over 13 months on the nhs. Anyway, scan was completely fine, also had normal ultrasound at the same time and he said he could find absolutely nothing. Am back to the consultant next week but was just wondering if anyone else had consistently raised ggt and alp with no apparent cause? I am on no medication at all and am alcohol free, 42 years old, not overweight but the levels remain raised, also have severe fatigue and abdominal discomfort. I guess the next step is a biopsy but if anyone had anything similar please let me know. Thank you for reading x

Well that is good news at least. Whatecer is causing your raise in levels doesn't yet look to have caused much lasting damage to your liver.
Still thats not to say nothing is going on. Clearly something is causing it a bit of upset. With a raise in ALP there is a hint that it could be connected to your biliary system within or external to the liver. Have they looked yet at things like PBC or PSC?
There is something called 'small duct psc'. This is where the small bile ducts in the liver are being attacked, it is thought by your own immune system. Small duct psc is difficult to diagnose as it doesnt show very much on imaging. It can though lead to some of the symptoms you describe. Fatigue definitely being high up there.
If these haven't been considered yet then its probably worth asking your specialist about next time you see them. Its a bit of a long shot as psc in particular is pretty rare. But there is no harm in asking.
Having said all that it could of course be something completely different, lol. I know how frustrating it can be not having a firm diagnosis though. I therefore wish you the best of luck and hope you do eventually get to the cause.
Thank you for your reply. The consultant did mention PBC and has run a whole load of blood tests for just about everything so I hopefully will get some answers soon.
Things outside your liver can raise ALP it tends to be higher in the morning than in the evening and even exercise will do it. If I walk a mile or two before I have my liver function test my ALP is always higher than when I go in for a test and haven't walked. I don't know much about GGT but I think gallbladder issues may raise that as well.
