Well good morning everyone! Just got the call and am in ambulance en route to Kings for my transplant!! Scared but excited too!

Been a very long day, and I just lucked out!! Unfortunately the donor liver had a tumour, so no good! 3rd time lucky for me!! Long ride back to Bristol when the driver gets here! Gutted!! Xx

Ok,scrap that, all ready to leave in five minutes and I got the call!! Another liver has become available!! How unlikely is that to happen!! So plan b,get some sleep and hopefully I will be woken to go to theatre! Night lovely people! Xx

Just a little tip, but you may know this already👍 Take a small clear bag with you for the bare essentials ie glasses, phone, charger, pen, notebook. When you go to theatre you cannot really take anything and they are reluctant to let you have any big items in ITU but they will let you take small items. Everything is locked away and labelled on the ward for your return there! Normally if you have visitors they can sort that out but if not it might be useful🙏 Stay safe🤗

Thank you, good tip, the nurse did say they would put small items in safe, but it would be good to have them in a separate bag. X

Good luck to you remember take your time do as they tell you but try to do a bit of walking as soon as your able it's a massive operation but you will improve and start to feel the benefit it's great to be alive 😜

I have only been on the list for just over a month but maybe I’m a bit eager and I have heard about the call’s that you just had, I just know how disappointed I would be. So at the moment I’m trying to do everything kings College tell me to do like I brought an exercise bike and trying the walking but with arthritis it’s a bit difficult but I’m going to get fit after my month in kings great people 😃👍. I hope you get a proper call soon, my thoughts are with you.

I think life at the moment is really trying for everybody, but at least we are on the list, so I am trying to make a positive out of it, and consider the last three attempts as my trial runs!! I am determined that we all have a chance, so to keep on doing what you're doing, and hopefully next year this will all be behind us! Stronger together!! X

Each time I thought about the donor and family and hoped that if they donated other organs they had gone to someone and that I would get my gift when the time was right🙏

I feel so much for you, I was diagnosed in the June of 2013, by the December 13, I was barely hanging on, late December I was told there was a liver for me but it was not to be, I was let home for Christmas but by the 27th I was back in Hospital, (The Freeman in Newcastle) then at 1'Oclock in the morning on the 1st of January 2014 I was told there was another Liver for me. The bitter/sweet miracle we all hope for happened and coming up to seven years later I am still here, It will happen for you, just stay strong.
