Stabbing pains

Today I experienced excruciating stabbing pains in my upper right side . I have recently undergone a transplant assessment and it looks like I’ve been accepted.

These pains took the breath away from me, when I say excruciating I am not exaggerating. They lasted about 10 mins but repeated most of the day.

Having never experienced anything like this before, is this just another symptom or should I let the doctors know.

I’m ever such a little bit terrified they come back again.

Thanks for reading.

Hi

I'm sorry you were in so much pain. I have them. My consultant told me that because my liver is so enlarged it stretches the capsule around it which causes the pain. I do have many conditions which cause me pain 24/7 hence why I only have an hour or less sleep per night.

Hope you don't get any more pain like that because as you say it takes your breath away,!!

Take care and stay safe Lynne

Good afternoon,

I hope the pain has gone and not returned by now but it would be an idea to mention it to your Transplant team - give the transplant coordinators a call and/or your GP.

regards
