I was very blessed to be given the gift of a Liver last year. I’ve had a few ups and downs, but I was always going to write to my donor’s family. I did so in August and today got a call from King’s to say they have written back and did I want the letter forwarded! I can think of loads of words to say, but none of them really express how I feel. It will be very emotional, but how courageous of them to write! I really didn’t expect it!
Stay safe everyone 🙏

Hello, I'm in the same situation. It took a while to establish the contact, but eventually I received a very emotional and sweet letter from the donor's mother. If all goes well, we are going to meet before Christmas. I am not so much nervous but extremely excited and wanting to give her hugs and let her feel her son's liver. It will be so incredibly special. Without this new liver I wouldn't be here today - and neither would you. We are so blessed!
I had my liver transplant 3yrs may iv wrote so many things but threw them away as non sounded good enough how can u thank someone for giving u another chance of life
My donor family said hearing from me gave them comfort and really helped them! My donor helped 3 other people to have the chance of life and I felt I knew my donor a little🙏 I don’t really think it’s what you say to them, and I don’t think there are right words, but that you have said something and made contact! 🙏💜
