Hi All,

I just wondered, anyone who is diagnosed with liver issues - fatty liver, Fibrosis etc who has flank/back pain has benefited from Physiotherapy to help with pain relief?

Hello,

Apologies for stating the obvious but do you know what is causing the pain, are you assuming it is related to the liver? There are many other potential causes.

It might be worth talking to your general practitioner about this so that you can get clarification on the cause of the pain and for advice on how to deal with it.

I see that you mentioned back in March that you had possible fatty liver.

If you had followed a healthy regime, (eat healthy food, exercise a little and stop drinking alcohol) then your liver should have repaired and healed it's self after six weeks.

As we are now into October, and you now suspect you still have fatty liver, or even fibrosis, then something's not working or is causing more damage to your liver. This needs to be investigated if you don't know what the cause is.

There are many causes for back and shoulder pain so the obvious should be ruled out before the exact cause can be determined. Having physiotherapy carried out before identifying the cause could do more harm than good.

Good Luck

Richard

Hi, thanks for reply Richard, I didn’t cut down enough on alcohol by the looks of it. Some months since Jan zero, some 120 units in a month.

I excercise a good amount 10k run, 2 hour bike or four hour walk each week. BMI is getting there since Jan lost 11lbs, 25.5 now..... it’s alcohol - I need to mourn the loss of it and move on.

Now five weeks into zero alcohol and see how it goes, fingers crossed. Amazing how good bloods, MRic CT and Fibroscan show nothing but still have pain, also had lighter stools and nausea which are massively decreasing as the weeks go by.

Thanks very much for replying - means a lot to be able to talk to people about it when your on your own.
