Its World Mental Health Day.... We know that year has been a tough one for liver patients & their families and prioritising mental health has never been more essential than it is now.
Keep taking and communicating...... We are really proud of the forum, and you all.
A very tough year for everyone and great to have the forum support🙏 In a previous life I organised some MH events and we used to talk about CLANG for MH. Connect, Learn, be Active, Notice and Give, orthe Five Ways to Wellbeing🙏
Someone i've not seen for a while at a petrol pump filling up like you do, said to me in that sarcastic way
'I heard you got through your drink stage and your mood depression stuff all gone now bout time fella it's all bolloks anyways aint it mate ..'
Well I just smiled and laughed, 'Addiction and mental health don't work like that FELLA, once you have it, youll always have it but I fight my ass off everday choosing not to feed them wants, needs and thoughts so yes its all bolloks MATE'.....that's stuck with me for life now, my mantra type thing. I don't waste my time with people who don't matter though, My recovery must come first so that everything I love in life does not have to come last. 👍
Hope everyone's plodding along and just keeping on swimming 🐠🐟thinking of all the sufferers out there, know first hand. Take care all ❤
Well Ashw88 people who have never had or been through let’s say the issues that we all talk about just have no idea so don’t be to hard on the thick sorry ignorant 😀
Hi Ash, to be honest I used to think I’d be able to give up the booze for a few months or so and then I’d be cured and be able to drink moderately. It’s not common knowledge that this isn’t the case. I only worked this one out from reading posts on another forum and the stories of so-called ex-drinkers relapsing after believing they were “cured”. It’s really scary that someone with an alcohol problem can quit for years but then fall back into old habits within a matter of days. My GP, for example, never mentioned this. Sometimes it takes an addict to understand. Hope you’re doing OK.
Hi Coco yes im getting there had a few setbacks here and there lately but nothing I've not nipped in the bud before it got out of reach, onwards and upwards hope you well?
I just feel you will get there Ash I’m not going to say it’s easy it’s really hard work but with the right attitude and with a bit of support you will make it 👍👍
Thanks Dogbot I will, not putting in all this hard work to undo with stupidity I've learned good lessons while sober, lot more than when i was drinking. All the best with what's going with you at present as well good luck mate.
Thank you Trust 👍feel so weird not saying a proper name considering all the work a team like yours does behind the scenes, you help so many lives you really do ❤
I personally would like to thank Trust 1 and the team for all your work and effort 👏👏👏👏👏. But of course where would I be without all the members of this site I would not like to think of it 👏👏👏👏👏.
Just a small bit of news to all I am in Kings College now and I have just been told I am starting my evaluation tomorrow for a new liver 😀🎉
