This is the latest sculpture to grace the Plymouth Waterfront. It is called Look 2, and is by Antony Gormley (he of Angel of the North Fame)! It is 12ft tall and from high up I think it looks quite sad ☹️ I’m not sure 🤔

🤣🤣 exactly !

Very modern art type structure, can't say its my cup of Yorkshire but each to there own I suppose. You could say it looks like an aged broken piece of IKEA furniture thrown out of the door in a fit of rage, by a frustrated so and so who's just had about enough of alan keys for one day 😅

I know but DVDs are soooo last year darling don't you know 🤣🤣 im just being fabulous there 😅, but its true though I don't get all this modern art farty type things, like someone takes a picture of a spoon and people marvel over it as its modern art....no its not treacle, its a spoon. Lol hope your well anyways Laura?

Hi Lam1e

Thanks for sharing.

I live near the Angel of the North and I remember grumblings from so many around as it was raised and embedded in position. And now? I dont know anyone that dosnt admire it.

A wonderfull, powerful structure as you sail through Gateshead, it reminds me I am home. A strong symbol for the north.

As for look2. I like it though I'd like to see it closer up. Maybe there is a sadness, conveyed by the artist ..... about the environment death of industry, fishing ....

Over consumption ....

Maybe theres a political message there. It's the first time Ive seen it though. Maybe one day when I become able to travel and my body wakes up I may visit it!

Thanks again for sharing.

Jane 😊

I think covid is getting to me but, I can see what Jane means. I see a man looking wistfully out to sea.

HELP I am going mad
