Hi,

Are you referring to HCC liver cancer screening check if you have cirrhosis of the liver? this is usually every 6 months.

Some hospitals have experienced delays in the screening due to Covid. We would suggest that patients contact their own liver team to find out when they should attend for their screening.

Yes, the HCC scan. No contact from the local health with notifications of the forward plan. Yes I have stage 4 cirrhosis and thought I would be placed as a person who needs monitoring.

Yes, you would be in the cohort of patient that need surveillance monitoring. Can you consider calling your consultant's medical secretary? they may be able to help and clarify when you can have your scan?

My hubby certainly had his ultrasound in July (only 11 months since last one), also had his annual endoscopy (in July, delayed from June) and has an appointment for his 5 yearly DEXA scan in a couple of weeks time so our screening and appointments have restarted.

I had my 6th monthly MRI almost 3 weeks ago...still waiting on the results but they are at least back to scanning.

When is your next scan due?

The last HCC scan I had was in November. Since then I had a phone call but no indication of when scans were going to take place again. I live in Scotland

Thanks for reply. I don't know when my next scan is due. The one in June was cancelled and no further contact. I live in Scotland.

Have you spoke to your GP? or maybe call your consultants office.

I have liver cancer which is possibly why mine wasn’t delayed. Getting the results seems to be another matter though 😊
