I've gained around 65 lbs in last few years and all in my gut, I look like a pregnant woman. I had started drinking coffee with tons of sugar and creamer everyday for months And months. Soda as well. It's look weird to have this gut. So I googled it and now I'm scared to death over ascites. I have no liver issues that I know of. Stomach is kinda tight and not flubby like most. Is this just me being extra paranoid over Google and just a fat boy or should I be concerned. I try theting down test for the wave thing but my whole stomach just moves like a waterbed so I cant tell

Am I just being paranoid from Google?
Hi Stevoe 🙂..you will be welcomed with some great advice soon and helpful answers to put your mind at rest, so don't panic!
We are not medically trained, but a lot of peeps on here have vast extensive knowledge and experiences that will help you also.
I have had ascites due to Cirrhosis. I had very little appetite, if any because of it. The last thing I wanted was fizzy soda or sweet creamed coffee. Try not jump to conclusions until you have a professional opinion.
At the moment, if.. as you say, you have no liver issues that you know of, it would be wise just to get a check up with your Doctor or GP. ...Dr Google is a pain in the bum and really doesn't help ...as you say it can make you more worried and paranoid, so try to stay away from it! 🙂
To confirm, pop to your Doctor and they will be more helpful than Dr G!
Hope you find some answers soon. Stay safe, take good care. 🤗
Thank you, yeah I have some serious health anxietys and since I've got my huge gut now I'm focused on that lol, and the last blood work I had 6 months ago my liver enzymes were normal. I'm in taking a lot of sugar daily and tomorrow I'm gonna try to just drink water And start exercising. It's a chore to just put socks on lol. Thanks
If you had ascites as a symptom of decompensated cirrhosis you would have felt unwell and the fluid build-up would have occurred relatively quickly. Your weight gain has occurred gradually over a number of years so you have probably just put on weight around your stomach as happens with many people as they get older. To be on the safe side see your GP & request an abdominal ultrasound which will confirm whether it's fat, gas or fluid build-up from ascites.
Thank you for your reply. I think your right, im just taking too much sugar daily and health anxiety is bad always. Trying to make a change starting tomorrow, once again thanks
Hi Stevoe39
I can’t sa any better than the advice you have been given it’s really great advice.
The one thing to watch out for is if you are taking in a lot of sugar daily and you just stop you might end up with a bit of a tremor or shake in your hands it’s only your body asking for more sugar, just keep away from the sugar and detox for a few days and then you should settle down, but most important talk to your doctor, good luck 👍.
Stay Safe All

I must say everything you have been told is correct you would have other syptoms if you had Ascites and I check a lot on line when my wife has problems but i normally check at least 6 different sites before i jump to any ideas, the web is full of garbage take a bit of guidence from it but do not think it tells you the truth
Hi Steve,
Can you get to see your GP this week? The GP will be able to examine you and order any necessary tests.
Keep us posted and good luck.
