EMAil from Asda

Cant beleive this.

Received EMail from Asda saying Government had given my hubbies info as being vulnerable. We would have priority for food deliveries.

Tried to log on to order , no slots. Nobody seems to know anything about the info we have received. Told on computer "dont deliver to that postcode"

Spoke to customer services, they are in the dark. Then said not been set up yet. Then saw a Priority Pass Number on the account. Still cant place an order., still saying don't deliver to this postcode.

What the hell is going on.

Still no letter from Government "re Vulnerable"

Hi carmik

Sounds like the Asda right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing 👎.

Re letter from gov have you rung your GP practice - that’s where my letter re Vulnerable came from....

Hope you get shopping and Vulnerable letter sorted out soon!,

I don’t qualify for the very vulnerable status myself but my partner does and he never got a letter.

However I registered him on the government web site, as being vulnerable, but not having yet received a letter

( there is a facility to do that if anyone is still waiting for a letter) then I never heard anything more.

Unfortunately he doesn’t understand very well , so to get him to call the doctors was out of the question so I left it and continued going shopping.

Then on Friday I had an email from Asda, saying the government had confirmed his status and he could order online, two hours later I had a priority pass , found a free slot on the 16th April, ordered foods and set up a recurring slot for every two weeks until the pass runs out in October. Brilliant...

The email did say other supermarkets may be in touch but to please only choose one, thus leaving slots for others, perhaps try one of the other supermarkets.

One thing to add, did you register with Asda after you got the email or were you already a returning on line customer. If it was a new account there may be a time delay. Call back the customer services and explain the situation.

We still never had the letter.

Hi Candy

Re your partner not being able to contact the doctor - I’m afraid you will have to do that and be with him at all times he talks to any medical person because it is unlikely he will be able to tell anyone coherently what is going on. My wife had to do it for four years - it’s a bummer, I’m sorry to say.

Oh but GJ re food 👍.

The Vulnerable letter usually comes from your GP - but it does seem to depend where you live. You don’t get anything back from the gov.uk registration. Don’t think they can cope with the numbers - one and a half million of us 🙁.

Hope your partner gets a bit better soon.

Right here we go.

I think I have sorted this problem out. Its due to lack of explanations by theses companies who have been given the list of vulnerable people.

Still no letter from the Gov, but this morning I spoke to a very nice lady at Tesco's.

I found out this morning from her that although my hubby has the "vulnerability" issue ,my email address is on most sites not his.

Therefore I cannot book deliveries for the" vulnerable "for him as I still have my old surname.

Tesco talked me through what to do. We now have a Tesco food delivery account in Mike's name ,which by tomorrow will be showing, (hopefully) he is vulnerable, and giving us the option of slots especially kept for the vulnerable, providing we can get a free one.

So anybody else having a problem check that there is an EMail address in the name of the vulnerable person.

Good Luck
