Hi Tate

Welcome to our friendly forum - well I hope you find it so!

Maybe you could tell us a bit more to kick off the sharing?

For me, I was transplanted 18 months ago at QEHB and liver is brilliant indeed 👍. Only real issuettes are darn incisional/umbilical hernias. Awaiting Op when our dear friend - most certainly NOT - Corona will let it happen.

Umm - oh and my hernia started to be noticeable 7 months after TP - then took another 7 months to be formally diagnosed...so beware even now is my caution....sorry not meaning to be a misery - I am still very much ecstatic about getting my new liver 😀👍 as I hope you indeed are!

Hello Miles,

I was transplanted 8 months ago at King's College Hospital, London. I became very unwell almost overnight and was, almost immediately, diagnosed with Hemochromatosis. I received my donor liver less than 48 hours after being listed. I understand that I was extremely fortunate as my blood group was B+. I'm feeling great although I do struggle occasionally with the enormity of it all but I'm very grateful for all the amazing care that I've received.

Hello GeordieTate

Firstly welcome to this wonderful forum of great, funny at times, caring team of people who will be at your side as long as you want them to be!

Secondly congratulations on your TP 8 months ago and hopefully your recovery has gone well?

Unfortunately I'm unable to answer any questions you may have relating to your operation but I know some of my friends will soon be in touch with you who maybe able to answer any future questions you have based on there own experiences.

Before I go, I wish you well and look forward to reading your correspondence with my friends.

Bye for now

Trish

Hi Tate, welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your transplant and hope you are enjoying every minute of your precious second chance at life! I’m sorry I can’t comment on transplants etc as it isn’t something I have experience of, you have joined a fantastic forum with very knowledgeable and supportive members who have all helped me so much, so again, welcome! Owlie x

Thank you for welcome! 😀

Hello there GeordieTate, nice to hear from you. Welcome to this fabulous forum. I was transplanted nearly 1 year ago (30/03.19)

So many congratulations on your transplant.

Looking forward to hearing more from you, You have heard already from the fabulous Miles who gives cheer and support to all. Incredible guy. You will meet on line all kinds of lovely, wonderful folk, all waiting to support you, laugh with you and sometimes cry with you.

It is the only bonus, whilst sailing on this rocky sea, which is liver disease. The silent killer!

You are thankfully out the other side, I pray your ongoing journey is trouble free. Stay happy, most importantly stay strong. Jaycee
