I just received Routine blood work results and my alt level came back high at 102. Should I be concerned ?
High alt level: I just received Routine... - British Liver Trust
High alt level
The cause for the raised ALT needs to be identified. Do you drink alcohol or take medication that stresses the liver? If there is no obvious cause & the ALT doesn't go back down to normal after following a healthy lifestyle then further investigation should be done to try & determine what's causing your liver to be inflamed.
Good afternoon Michpaq,
As Hidden suggested, further investigation may be required.
Also we are unable to comment on an individuals blood test due to varying reference ranges.
A single blood test does not really help in making a diagnosis. A series of tests along with clinical examination and history taking will be more useful.
A positive lifestyle with minimal alcohol, healthy diet and exercise is best for long term liver health.
I have included a link to Liver Disease Tests explained for your information.
