Following a fibroscan result of 8.0 F2 this morning I am unsure whether to undertake an endurance event coming up. It is an cross country ultra of 43 miles. I'm told such endurance events stress the organs as it is let alone a struggling liver. Anybody who has received any advice about such exertion with F2? Many thanks in advance.

Can I run an ultra (43 miles) with F2 Liver Fibrosis. I'm told long distance events like this can stress the organs.
Hi Pebs1982
We would suggest that you think about seeing your doctor/ liver specialist and asking for their expert clinical advice about your ultramarathon. They may well want to order additional medical investigations to establish a diagnosis and obtain more information.
Best wishes

Hi.
I think it is highly unlikely that your damaged liver would be able to process the energy you would need for such a run...... and consider the added risk of injury ?
Sure keep up regular exercise but don't take it to the extreme .
Take care. Laura
Hi
I'm guessing this is not the answer your going to be looking for but here goes.
I don't run but I do cycle round 25 to 30 kilometers almost daily plus walk fast on the treadmill!
My GP is aware of my routine but advised reducing the distance which I've not done as yet ....
If your concerned about your 43 mile run and the affect it could have on your Liver then I too suggest you speak with your GP or consultant as no one is qualified on this forum even if they did have a similar condition to yourself to say GO AHEAD with your run as only you can make that decision!
Good luck
