Confused! Can someone please help me understand? I have had three Ana test done. One was antinuclear antibodies, ifa. It came back positive. Homogeneous pattern 1:160. The other test was an Ana negative and the next one was an Ana with reflex with c3 and c4 serum negative again. Someone please help clarify what this means. Hi wildy

I have no idea either!

Please be aware though that you are not really supposed to put actual test result data values on this forum . 😕. You can use wording like value x was perceived to be high or low, etc but not the actual numbers....

I'm sure AyrshireK (Katie) will be able to assist you with understanding at least some of these results soon

I think this is something you need your doctors to interpret and come up with their idea of a diagnosis. Obviously they are looking at auto immune issues and sadly when you have one you can have multiple - crossover auto immune issues hence them mentioning Sjogren's Syndrome, SLE Lupus and PBC. All too confusing for my limited knowledge.

Hi,

Unfortunately, no one on the forum is medically qualified to be able to comment on these results.

It is really important that whoever ordered these blood tests for you, safely interprets them. Please do keep us posted and we hope that you start to feel better soon,

Best wishes

From what the tests say you have PBC and Sjoegren Sydrom, which sometimes go together.

So you definitely should be treated for PBC ( very sure!!) (medication=Ursodeoxycholacid), and also for Sjoegrens (often medication= Quensyl =Hydroxychloroquin).

I also have PBC with positive AMA and ANA, (here GP210, says same as your SP100=PBC-specific. ).

Take care

I hope you have an appointment very soon with the consultant to discuss your results and referrals to rheumatologist for sjogrens etc. I think the consultants can give you something to help with the itching, others here would know more about this. There are organisations for lupus and sjogrens and PBC online which could inform you more and facebook and yahoo groups for many conditions, if you joined you can also chat to others with similar conditions. Also on the British Liver Trust site they have information on PBC etc.

Best wishes
