Do you think your liver can cramp/hurt during an alcohol detox? 😣. X

Alcohol detox!
Hi Cashiee97, well done on taking steps to address the alcohol.
Depending on how much you were drinking prior to this sudden stop then yes you can get physical and mental issues and it would be very wise for you to speak to your GP. Acknowledge your concerns to them and discuss how much you were drinking, sometimes it actually isn't safe to suddenly stop and it is best to get medical advice regarding safe stopping.
You perhaps need some tests as others have suggested in your other posts to check out the health of your liver.
Remember it isn't just alcohol that can cause liver harm or pain in the abdomen so if you are having pain in the liver region it needs checking out. There could be other liver related issues or gall bladder or all sorts of other things which need examining.
Get an appointment with your doctor and get help with your cessation to make sure you are doing it safely and supported.

Yes it can definitely hurt although it may be sporadic..when you stop drinking you become much more aware of ached and pains alchohol being a suppressant.
Hi Cashiee,
Good for you making a healthy change, best of luck!
I remember feeling pain in the upper right, under the breast, after a night of heavy drinking. The liver gets inflamed and swells, is how l understand it. As briccolone points out, you will "feel" more just being sober, it gets better and then you will feel great! 🐦❤️👍😉
As an Alcoholic myself but not drank for over 8 years I know it does hurt.
Have you considered going to AA meetings? they saved my life and its not a cult or old people, you need support from people who know what its like, most people who can drink do not have a clue what being an Alcoholic is all about. May your God be with you x
