Hello all, my Grandad has been told he has multiple gallstones, he is currently in hospital but they have said that they don’t think he can go under anaesthetic due to other health conditions, has this ever happened to anyone where they can’t have the surgery? What happens next if they cannot do the surgery?

Hi Wafflewonderdog
Sorry that no one has answered your post. You may find our publication on Gallstones useful to read:

We would suggest your grandfather speak to his own medical consultant and find out what the plan is with regards monitoring him.
Best wishes

Hi I am in the same boat as your Grandad, I have been told I might get my Gall bladder removed this month but I'm not very hopeful. they told me my liver was too swollen in November, I mean I have Liver Cirrhosis for gods sake its bound to be that way?
This Gall bladder is excoriatingly painful and no matter how much Codeine phosphate I take it still hurts, now my surgery are being funny about how much I get through. what else can I do?
Hope your Grandpa gets help soon.
