Hi

I posted a few weeks ago. I can’t get the courage to go to the drs. Worried about my hands.

I'm not going to beat about the bush here. You have an alcohol addiction, showing symptoms of liver damage so please get yourself to the doctors, be completely honest about the amount you drink and list all your symptoms so you can start treatment and get that damn poison out of your life before its too late. My husband left it too long and was dead by 54. Isn't that more scary than seeing your doc ?

Laura. Thanks. I think I need tough love.

Hands up who hasn't done their homework?

Shall I just run through the minutes of the last meeting, raising those points that still have to be actioned.

No, I see no glass in that hand, a plus? I also see the key but your not holding it. Use the key to drive yourself you know where and stop driving yourself & all to distraction.

What happened your annual medical last month. Anything - LFT? 🤔

There wasn’t a liver test. Just cholesterol and kidneys. I didn’t know that before hand

Help is at hand however you've got to reach out for it.

The decision is in your hands. You know that much. You will not address your concerns by any other means.

Get Christmas over and make the new year a positive one. 🌲🎅👍

Hi Sam,

All the other members have given you good advice, and I agree with them. Get yourself to your GP, and insist on having LFT's, a referral to a hepatologist, and help with stopping drinking, as Laura says there no other choice for you, so you have to get yourself sorted for your own sake, if not for your families.

Seeing the GP is the easier option, so do it Now.

Good morning Sambenjoe,

We cannot comment on your photograph however, I can see many of our lovely forum members have reached out to support you and the fact you have posted again on here suggests you know a change is needed.

The fact that you have admitted to yourself and this forum in your previous post , that you have drunk alcohol to excess is the bravest first step.

The next one is seeking medical advice. If you have pain , ongoing discomfort or new symptoms , this should not be ignored.

You can also call our helpline on 0800 652 7330 if you wish to chat with a liver nurse. Our helpline is available today until 14.45pm and will then close until the 2nd January.

Best wishes for your next steps,

Trust9

Hi Sam

I too agree with my friends advice! Goo and see your GP as soon as it's possible but in the meantime get rid of any drink around the house which is the first step and buy no more!

Let's us know if you've managed to take the first step to a better life!

Here's a hug together with a Merry Christmas Wish

Love Trish x
