Carers give up their jobs to care for their loved ones they are stripped of their wage, any benefit top ups and worse still the terminally ill patient gets their tiny pension allowance deducted to help pay for the carers allowance. At a time of desperation illness and grief the British government also wants to influct suffering and poverty stress and hunger and worry on those doing the job that would cost them hundreds of pounds per week to do themself.Voting results are next week.I will not be voting for anyone that allows citizens dying and their carers to starve in poverty

Dying poor on benefits
Yes, precisely. It's just unbelievable how these families are treated. Our friend and her grown up children looked after her husband for at least 5-7 years, the carer's allowance was even taken off her when her husband was so poorly and in so much pain, it was heartbreaking to see them like this. We helped as much as we could, they'd paid their stamp all through their life and this was the thanks they got. Her husband was a taxi driver so there were many occasions he worked nights or had to get up very early. He never even got to retirement age.
I'm sorry to go in but things like this really annoy me, it's just not right. Take care Lynne
Hi Eekk
I'm truly shocked at your message as I never knew your pension was reduced to cover carers allowance ! This is utterly shameful!
Thank you for sharing!

Hi eekk,
I, like Trish, never knew that pensions were reduced to pay carer's allowance.
It's just not fair for the carer's giving up their income to be subsidised by the poorly person they are caring for.
This injustice needs to be stopped now.
David
There are many things wrong with the current system. If you have a lot of money you are ok otherwise people in this situation should not have to sit worrying about things like this it should be taken care of.
Agreed it's super tough being an under appreciated carer. If you have money at the beginning of the carer journey you won't by the end.
