Hi folks been from Northern Ireland, firstly are there any members here from Northern Ireland with the same condition as myself complex polycystic liver disease?? Secondly does anyone know of a liver support group in Northern ireland, ive found one but its over 100 miles away and only meets 3 times a year. I woyld love to find a group where you could sit down over a cuppa and have a good old natter, in my home town there are about 5 support groups for kidney, stroke and cancer all of which are welcomed.

Hi Ian, I’m from Belfast, suffered from PBC auto immune disease since 2015 and have very successful liver transplant on 26 October discharged home and recovering slowly, only support group I am aware of is the RVH one but I cannot sing their praises enough, they are wonderful, don’t share or know anything about your condidrrion but here with a listening ear if ye ever need a moan xxx Eilish
NI Transplant Assoc. Dungannon based. Bit old hat though. Last news posted 2015 George Best Airport support. They do have a bakebook acc. but I don't. 🤓
Also ...at the weekly liver clinic on Friday afternoon in RVH there is a representative from the liver support group manning the help desk at the entrance to the clinic on level 6 outpatients, lots of literature and also someone to ask any questions you may have I found them to be w great help waiting on my transplant and since xx
Sounds great my only problem im in the sticks nearly 100 miles away and im wrecked by the time i even get into my own town so what would i be like if i travelled to Belfast, in saying that im going to the Mater on Monday to see my consultant Mr Taylor
I remember that feeling only too well Ian and you have my sympathies ...as previously stated there is a facebook page and a website I'll try to find the link xx
Can't name names edit before mods on Monday. 👎
Sorry youve lost me there
