Pbc and teeth problems

Hi again I’ve just come back from my annual dentist appointment and been told my back molars are starting to show gum disease and are moving has anyone else experienced this due to pbc ?

I have lost 5 teeth since having PBC. Never had issues before. 😡😡😡

Any liver disease causes problems with teeth and gums I have no top teeth at all and I have to use a toothpaste I get specially from the dentist

Hi this is just not what I expected at all , thank you for info .. dentist said if I use electric toothbrush use this toothpaste and floss it should help .. got to have teeth and gum measured ?

Like lorraine I have had 5 teeth out since having cirrhosis. Still “rumblings” post TP.

This is really horrible I didn’t realise had such an affect on your teeth .

So glad I joined this as finding out more than my consultant telling me and don’t feel so alone . 😢

I had PSC and a transplant. Subsequently have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis and been prescribed Calcium/Vitamin D and Alendronic Acid. My dentist said that a potential side effect of the Alendronic Acid was erosion of the jaw bone leading to loose teeth (although a very low risk). Regular dental check ups are important he said. Talk to your Consultant and Dentist.
