That's terrible bad luck. I have had pancreatitis, it is the most painful thing I've ever experienced!! I had it weeks after being in labour for more than 24 hours, and that pain was nothing in comparison. I'm so glad he is getting pain relief. It is a known risk associated with ERCP, so at least they quickly diagnosed it. When I had it the first time I was nil by mouth for 5 days, and had IV antibiotics and fluids. I assume they'll be doing something similar for Terry.

I hope he gets well soon, and tell him not to try and cope, get as much pain relief as he's allowed!!

Sorry you are having this stress to deal with, you are obviously a very strong and caring person Terry is very lucky to have you.

Take care x

We've been through a lot since 2015 . Cirrhosis, transplant & now this. I won't be telling him it's worse than labour or he'll be dining out on that for weeks.xx

It's 14 days now since the ERCP. he's much better but not 100%. He's now 10lbs lighter ( looks like a refugee from a concentration camp). He's got to have the pancreatic stent removed next Friday but needless to say he's worried the same will happen again. I've only just noticed that you said "when I had it the first time". How many times have you had pancreatitis if you don't mind me asking. xx

I was hospitalised twice with it, but when it started I had pain for weeks, and they sent me home from A&E twice saying I had gastritis and should drink lots of milky things. Which turned out to be the absolute opposite of what I should do, as it was the gallstones causing the pain. On the third time, I was very ill and jaundiced so Dr did bloods and discovered pancreatitis. I don't know if the first flare up was pancreatitis or gallbladder pain, as it did become more painful.

Anyway, the most important thing is since my gallbladder and sludgy stones where removed I have had no accute attacks. It was thought maybe my ongoing pain was chronic pancreatitis but my bloods haven't shown this. An endoscopic ultrasound showed scarring in a small area of the pancreas, but it's never shown up on mri???

Glad to hear he's getting a bit better. The stent should do the job.

Take care x x
