Sure seems like the Surgeons in the UK are first class, but some of the other sick people get tossed out in the street in critical condition. I am terrified to have National Health Care, although I know many have no option. Seems like some wait forever for simple labs, and critical test results too. I sure feel sorry for some on here with their Mums and Dads being tossed out without care. Good luck and prayers to all suffering.🙏🙏🙏

The life expectancy for men and women in the US in 2016 was 76.4 and 81.4 years, while in the UK, those numbers stood at 79.04 and 82.72.
Hi Casinobo,
I think the problem here is that those of us who have received excellent treatment on the NHS don't tend to post about it. You are seeing posts from a minority, given millions of people regularly rely on the NHS. No one in this country has had to chose health care over food, or has become bankrupt because they are unlucky enough to be ill.
I have never had a terrible experience using the NHS, yes I may have to wait for things, but that is reasonable in most cases. When you are actually very unwell you get care straight away. It's not based on who can or cannot afford care.
I had a scan last week, and my Dr rang me with the results only 1 hour after I got home.
Many of us are grateful to have a nhs, and respect it. I do think we should try to highlight the positives, and when things go wrong speak to those who can make changes, ie Pals, or managers. Currently the links between health and social care is causing difficulties for people who need both these services, this is down to political short-sightedness and local authority spending cuts. Not necessarily the NHS, although they have to pick up the pieces.
Take care and best wishes

As someone who has experienced healthcare on both sides of the Atlantic I'm more than certain that the NHS wins hands down..
We may have to wait for some tests, scans etc but at least we dont go bankrupt and risk losing our homes after a diagnosis of a serious illness.
Over here the Drs make the (majority)of the decisions on peoples treatment..unlike in the States where a faceless insurance company decides whether the cancer patient really does need that scan or chemo or radiotherapy..
The NHS is far superior for the regular people than any system the USA currently has.
Good points. I do know of people that have had to go bankrupt over medical costs. I sure hope the tone of my initial post wasn’t insulting or condescending. I guess I just ran into a string of unhappy people with their care in the UK. Medicaid sucks in America. I hope all is well.
