Feeling ill

Hi all.. been a while since I've posted... My symptoms are awful... my right side pain is constant 247 now.. along with bright red blood in all stools... that are also pale . I know palms are not a good indicator but they are so much worse... lots of little veins all over now. Appetite has gone and not thirsty either. I feel I'm in a constant fog. And very emotional / scared. I've heard nothing from consultant no letters or anything despite gp writing to them.. I'm going to gp in morning regarding how bad these issues are getting ...any advice onnwhat I should ask? I feel absolutely terrible...

Blood in your stools is a medical emergency, i'd go to GP a.s.a.p or better still A&E and get admitted to hospital for tests. As far as I can recall you've got all these multiple symptoms but as yet no firm diagnosis. If you are in that pain and passing blood go to hospital.

GP referral Dec18 - Consultant April19 though he had sent me for tests prior to meeting him. What to ask? Tell it as it is or do as AyrshireK says.

Hi Ktan

My advice would be to call your GP or 111 and explain your symptoms, if your blood loss is substantial then get calling!

However, don't panic as there are numerous reasons for blood in poo's and there all not bad , so keep calm , however this must be addressed especially with you feeling so poorly.

Please keep us updated if your able to but I would make that call if your unwell!,

Coupled with the other symptoms and history I would be concerned about the possibility of bleeding from varices veins in either esophagus or stomach. X

Another good point for contacting the GP or dialling 111, but only Ktan make that decision based on how poorly they feel!

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Ktan get advice and whatever treatment is required soon

Thank you all for replies.. I will be making a call first thing in the morning to see my GP. Its not like pouring out blood but stool stinks of blood smell and it has got streaks of blood in it. Will update tomorrow on outcome. Thanks

Really good advice from all of the above. This really isn’t to frighten you though! The important thing about the A&E recommendation is that you will be seen and referred quickly. Good luck today!

Thanks. Spoke to my GP got appointment today at 14:30 . Any idea what they will say? Will they just tell me to go to a&e or can they fast track me? I had a sigmoidoscopy 22nd april and tbat was clear.. so maybe something further up with explains the constant nagging right side pain.. bleeding been on and off for 12 months now.. judging from the pain location and blood maybe it could be crohns.can you eventually feel very poorly if you have a slow bleed in GI. I'll post back later

Hi ktan49, good luck with appointment. I would still go to A&E because they can do certain test there and then, especially with bleeding they might do an ultrasound scan.

I’m sorry I didn’t reply (an emergency - security cameras found smashed outside son’s house) and by now you will have seen your GP and had a meaningful response. Blood in stools definitely requires looking into. Please let us know how you get on.

Sorry to hear that, how on earth have they not investigated for such as that before now. Fingers crossed they can get moving and sort you out some treatment options.

In a reply to me a couple of days ago they were sadly saying suspected pancreatic cancer. Hopefully not but fingers crossed they finally get a diagnosis and treatment plan for ktan as this situation has gone on for too long with no proper answers.

Sincerely hope so too, after all this time. Probably wasn't any more progress over the weekend so it's probably too early for any confirmation or otherwise.

I'm still here, very weak and in a lot of pain... haven't eaten for 5 days as I feel full all of the time. Was admitted to hospital last night was on iv drip and pain relief all night. Awaiting urgent appointment with gastro.

In lot of pain right side and all up back.. constant nausea and feel out of it ... still not eating or drinking much.. ultrasound tomorrow will show if it is C or not

Hello all, sorry it’s taken so long to reply, I feel like death warmed up! Apparently it’s highly likely I have Crohn’s disease in small intestine, which is what’s causing all my symptoms, pale stool, bleeding, weakness, brain fog, joint pain etc etc so I’m currently waiting to be referred to Gastro for a pill cam after having clear colonoscopy. Hope you’re all as well as can be
