Falling hair.

Hello everyone! Haven’t written in a while and hope all doing fine. Does anyone know about extreme dry hair and breaking at the shaft? My hair grew back 6 months after cirrhosis diagnosis. Six months later started falling out again then as little hair grow hair breaks. Hair is very coarse and just fall in the wash bowl. So frustrating because cold season is here and head gets cold. Anyone heard or experience this? I know this is superficial but just want to know if it’s the condition causing this. Would be happy to hear from anyone. Thank you. Beefeater

It's the liver disease it is conserving energy for what it needs to so hair isn't a top priority x

I was nearly bald at the front of head for a couple of years

Receding on forehead or where it's most noticeable. It's got very fine. Does it grow back. Man curls.?

Mine too. Very thin all over but particularly over the temples. Condition is shockingly dry despite many moisture treatments. I gave up last week and had it cut shorter than normal but at least it doesn’t look like worzel gummidge!

I literally could go 3-4 wks between washing it as it just does not have even a hint of grease.

My hairdresser who is aware that I am ill due to the severe weight loss since jan- has promised me a “radical restyle & colour” once I feel a bit better.

Thank you Braveheart65 to hear I’m not alone. I just went out and feel I need to cover head especially when it’s cold. I probably should do like you and not shampoo for couple of weeks. Just bought a wig. Take care and blessings to you

Just remember to brush or comb hair daily as it gets rid of broken ones and makes head look healthier. When you do wash it remember to massage scalp as this helps with new hair growth.

My hairdresser told me to stop worrying about it. She can see new hair growth even if can’t. I envisaged Arthur Scargill comb over was next for me!

But seriously, just try to stay as positive and healthy as you can manage. The human mind is an incredible tool, make it work in your favour by relaxing, not stressing.

Talk thru your concerns with your medical advisers. Stay happy!

Braveheart65. You’re terrific response gave me hope. I’m combing my hair about 4 times a day and then I see more hair fall. I’ll do my best to not stress about this liver thing and imagine that someday I’ll grow silky healthy hair. Thanks again

My hair went from being like a heavy rock stars to Willie Thornes’ very quickly so I just take it off.
