Should I be worried?

I have NALFD/Cirrhosis over the past few months I have been feeling awful. Back and forward to the GP for numerous tests.

I went to get some test results and he basically dismissed my concerns. Told me I had an inflamed gut, low vitamin A & D.

I feel as if I'm banging my head against the wall and not been taken seriously.

Today out of the blue I got a call from my specialists secretary, I am not due to see him until May 2020, saying that he wants to see me on Tuesday.

I don't think it is a good sign but all weekend to worry.

Hi georig. Don't worry, (easier said than done I know) but this could turn out to be a good thing. As you say you feel like you're banging your head against a wall visiting your GP. Now you will be able to discuss your symptoms with a specialist and they will either have your blood test results or be able to access them. This has to be far better for you than having to wait another 7/8 months for a specialist appointment feeling as frustrated as you do now. I hope it turns out to be a successful appointment. All the best. Alf.

Hi georig

Welcome to this wonderful community of ours 👍

Lynne and Alf are both so correct. Whatever you are told this you must please treat as good news because you are indeed now going to be treated seriously.

What I don’t understand is how your doctor isn’t treating you in the correct manner when you have been diagnosed with NAFLD. I would find another doctor whatever the outcome from Tuesday. You HAVE to be able to see someone who understands your issues even if they can’t - not being a specialist - recommend solutions themselves. Of course you can now take solace from being in the right circle of expertise again.

Good luck!

Miles

Good Morning Georig

Firstly welcome to this wonderful forum of great caring people who will be at your side for as long as you want !

I agree with my friends comments that your appointment being brought forward is a good thing especially when your not feeling so good!

I cannot add much more other than try your best not to stress out to much as most of us on here know exactly what that's like!

Scream if you must, just let your feelings out on here as most will understand your frustrations ms and anxiety! We do however have on an numerous occasions banter with each other with you may come across if you start to follow the forum! Each day varies for each of us, some have good days and some have depressing days and having someone to vent to who listens is a great life line for some!

Any questions or fears just ask away and someone will try and answer base on there own experiences!

Take care, and good luck as we all look forward to following your progress.

Good afernoon georig,

welcome to this friendly forum where I am sure you will get lots of support.

I have included links to information regarding NAFLD, cirrhosis and Liver Disease tests which may help to form questions for your appointment on Tuesday. May I also suggest that you write any questions down and if you are likely to feel overwhelmed, you may wish to take a friend or relative with you to the appointment.
