What have ur drs said about the future? I can only say I too had cirrhosis as a result of NAFLD and I had a transplant about 7 months after being listed. This was after a period of assessment re suitability to undertake a transplant. I am now nearly 4 yrs on. I did have some complications post transplant that were not to do with the transplant necessarily so had a long rehab. I would suggest you ask more direct questions to your specialist which I expect u are now seeing. Having additional health issues won’t necessarily stop u having a transplant if needed but speak with ur specialist. Good luck
Don't know who my specialist is, he was in the gastro clinic, was originally seeing them for diabetes. That was about 3 months ago, didn't realise it was a serious problem, until now and doing some research.
Thanks for advice.
I was initially treated by a gastroenterologist who referred me to Addenbrooks one of the regional liver specialists. U could ask if u are needing a referral. If u don’t need a referral ask why. It might be a positive thing. Which area are u in?
Near Addenbrookes lol! Well 20 mins. Was told def cirrhosis, had fatty liver for years, diabetic for 5 years and on many many bad meds. Which i am trying to reduce now. Will see gp and ask to see a PROPER liver specialist. Thank you so much x

here is a useful link for you... nhs.uk/conditions/cirrhosis/ it does give some explanation...
Hi, I had NAFLD and suffered many symptoms over several years before finally receiving a liver transplant. The best advice I can give - whilst you digest all of the valuable information given in the links you have been directed to - is to immediately alter your diet. Your liver is not functioning fully so you can help it out by decreasing the food & drink that makes it work harder. Basically it's job its to help remove toxins from your bloodstream. So reduce the amount you consume. Cut out alcohol, reduce salt, fat, sugar. Your blood results will indicate any issues. When your liver does not work fully the toxins build up in your system and put pressure on your kidneys, spleen, etc. It can lead to ascites (fluid build up in the abdomen). Try to keep regular, never "hold it in" go when you have to - and often if you can. Everyone has their own path, you can learn a lot from the people on this site. Stay positive, make healthy choices, be prepared for a continually changing path. You must prevent the cirrhosis from getting worse. This is scarring of the liver which prevents it from regenerating - you can stop it getting worse by changing your diet. The cirrhosis may prevent full regeneration but preventing it becoming advanced will help you. Good luck.
