Kidneys feel a little sore, or is it lower back?

Hello

I'm 2 years post transplant and over the last 5 or 6 days, when I wake up I've had a dull ache towards the right hand side of my lower back. I went to see my GP yesterday and she had a little feel around and she seems to think it's muscle related but I asked for a blood test form and got that done and hopefully I will find out those results on Monday.

I only really feel uncomfortable when I wake up and try to fall back to sleep again. It doesn't seem to be an issue during the day or in the evening. In fact, I completely forget about it. Although my matress seems comfortable, it's over 10 years old and maybe it might be the problem. If my blood results come back clear I will look at changing that pretty soon!

My kidneys failed when my liver failed and I was on dialysis for about 8 weeks until they started working again. Blood tests have shown a gradual improvement every month or so over a 2 year period but I accept that they will never be as good as when I was healthy.

I was just interested as to whether anybody else has experienced these rather painful dull aches in the morning.
