fibroscan waiting times
Hi
Not sure how long the wait is in Wales. Could you get in touch with your consultant's secretary to see if she can do anything. My consultant's secretary is very good. I think you can pay privately for one, not sure on the cost. How are you feeling tonight ? Take care Lynne
Hi lynne
Thank you for your reply i am feeling ok thank you, ,hope you are well, i have phoned the nurse who deals with appointments for fibroscan but i had no answers really other than im low down on the list when i had one about 12 months ago i waited no time at all think it was week,s so that is why i am a bit confused why it is taking this long ,8 months since the first referral .

Thank you xxxx
Hi Lemondrive
You mention you live in Wales, do you come under the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital area as I know lots of patients travel from certain areas of Wales for a fibroscan.
I'm asking because I received my appointment within a couple of weeks and was scanned less than a month later followed by an MRI . I would recommend you speak with your GP or GP's secretary.
Good luck and hope all goes well for you.

Hi lemondrive42
We would suggest to try to speak with your consultant via their medical secretary. If you were meant to have one in January they may want to know if you have not had one yet and could possibly investigate it for you.
Waiting lists for fibroscans can vary between hospitals as they are now being used much more in clinical practice. Hopefully your consultant can help.
Best wishes
