Blood tests

Hi everyone - so I got my blood test results back yesterday and am really worried about some of them ☹️. Even though the liver and kidney function tests came back normal, my C-Reactive Protein came in at 5.41 which is extremely high (apparently this indicates serious inflammation) and my iron count is also very high. Has anyone else with liver damage had these kind of test results. Didn't sleep last night fretting about it 😢

Sadly no one here is qualified to comment on blood test results and you should really see your own doctors for follow up. With elevated c-reactive protein it indicates you have some inflammation somewhere and high ferritin / high iron levels needs following up.

Best wishes, hope you have a doctors appointment soon where you can discuss these result and see what further tests are planned.

p.s. in an earlier post you were asking about taking folic acid supplements. Unless these were prescribed by a doctor I wouldn't take them in case they are skewing your blood test results.

Thanks Katie - good point on the folic acid.

Hi,

We understand you may be worried but unfortunately nobody is medically qualified to comment on the results. Can you maybe contact your doctor today and ask them to talk through the reasons the test may be elevated?

Are they ordering additional tests?

Hopefully your doctor can clarify matters for you.

Hi - thank you for replying. I am not asking for medical comments/diagnosis on my blood test results - simply asking if anyone had experience of similar blood test results, particularly if suffering from liver disease. Thanks for the link - I'll have a look now.
