Hi Anitta, I don,t know if you are aware of this but as you are in the UK you can ask your Doctor to refer you to a dietician for advice. I saw a special liver nurse dietician and learnt alot from her. The NHS has revised its ideas on diet especially regarding cirhosis and carbohydrates, so i was so pleased to have seen her as I,d been following out of date advice. As you doubtless know being overweight and fatty liver are so imortant to keep under control with our condition and your Doctor shouldn,t hesitate to refer you if requested. Be sure to take a pen and paper with you along with any questions you may think of before then. I must admit I don,t follow all of her recomendations, perhaps 80 % but it has greatly impacted my life and I now sleep at night, am no longer full of toxins and thus confused, etc. Seeing a dietician was well worth it, i was so sceptical before, and as I mementioned the advice i,d been following was out of date. I try and drink cordials or squash with no sugar or atrificial sweetner if possible, hopefully someone can answer that question for you. take care, m.b. ☺

Hi nuttie, sorry but I'm still not sure I even know what we're talking about, here in America squash is a vegetable, pretty sure you would know how delicious that is roasted until tender with oil and herbs. Is it an orange liqueur you mean, like Grand Marnier? Or a soda like Orange Crush? If it has alcohol or sugar in it, it's not good for you. Or if it's syrup of some kind, also not good. We have a soda drink here I really like called Zevia, it has zero calories and is sweetened by the stevia plant. It comes in many flavors, including orange. I do believe stevia is an acquired taste, or should I call it, aftertaste. I'm used to it, and find it refreshing, but it's a little bit like smoking menthol cigs, but I'm not saying you need to try that either.

I am not sure if its bad, other than squash is very high in sugar, even diluted as it should be.

So I guess you taking on a load of calories which is not good

If it's no added sugar, I would imagine it's fine. X

Try freezing orange pieces. That way you may satisfy your ice craving without all the sugar.
