I have been a heavy drinker for 30 years big time. The Doctor doesn't know all lfts and other bloods normal. Had a ct scan last year Fatty Liver havent even told consultant seen him this week he says I am overweight about 2 stone says I need to lose it. Showed me a screen with all the different stages he said you are at the first not to worry but need to lose weight and exercise surely he must know. I am so worried after reading what's on the cards for me.

Unless he saw you smelling of alcohol he wouldn't assume. You admit you drink heavily so maybe its time to fess up? I have cirrhosis but have normal bloods. Liver disease is a siient killer. All the drink is loaded with calories too, so if you stop drinking your weight will drop off. There is lots of help to assist you to stop, but it ultimately has to be your choice. There are many different causes of liver disease and no one on here will judge you. It sounds like your liver may wel improve if you stop, A lot of people have fought this and won. Your pocket will benefit as well as your liver and waistline. Hazelx

Do you want to give up drinking?

😁 Thanks. I’m hoping the answer’s yes as being a heavy drinker is nothing to be ashamed of, but being one certainly wasted ten to fifteen years of my life with hangovers, semi-drunken evenings, etc. That’s not even getting started on the health effects. This sounds arrogant (but true), now I don’t drink I feel like superman - going running now - so when Patrick asks what’s on the cards (he only has 2 stone to lose, I’ve lost well over 3), it’s a bright future.

Thanks coconut 😁. I have lost 3 stones but I think a lot of that was ascities and odeima (spelling? Hehe). Run? I I can only walk at about half speed atm 😁 but that is due to other issues other than just post TP lol.

Nothing wrong with walking at “half speed”, tortoise and hare and all that.
