Hi lovely people, here I’m again. I have recently saw my liver specialist and had ultrasound. Have received my report regarding my last visit today. My ultrasound showed an ill-defined lesion in the posterior right lobe which was about 4 cm in size. I’m so devastated and panicked. God! you deal with something and something else comes up. Any idea please? What’s this? Is anyone has such a thing? Is it dangerous? I have already bad headache!!
By the way I’ve been referred for MRI with contrast and appointment is for Saturday coming. Is contrast safe? I have this option to ask for MRI without contrast, any idea? would you go for MRI without contrast? I’m worried if my body shows some reaction to contrast( in 1993 I had something I think it was X- Ray with contrast for my liver and I had pain for one week in liver area also very unwell) or it makes my liver worse than it is. Many thanks

My hubby just had an MRI after some lesions showed up in his liver ultrasound in November - thankfully you don't have as long to wait as hubby had (12+ weeks to rule out liver cancer which was stressful). In order to get a proper look at the liver tissue in MRI hubby had to have contrast - he had no ill effects.
Thankfully his results came through quickly and his lesions just turned out to be some scarring related to his already known cirrhosis.
Thank you so much katie for your swift reply. Glad to hear that your hubby’s result was good. I’m having very stressful time. But your reply is very helpful. I have to wait for Saturday. Many thanks
Hi. I had an MRI with contrast but I wasn't aware of any side affects. Would it best, perhaps, to mention any concerns before hand, especially if you're anxious. I panicked a bit just before they gave me the contrast as they said I might have a warm sensation around my pelvis and might feel like I want to have a wee. This wasn't a strong sensation, even less the second time, and to my relief I didn't wet myself!!! I just thought I'd mention it as it worried me at the time but it wasn't a problem atall. Wishing you the best of luck with it.
Hi Coralsun, thank you so much, actually I’m worried because of the problem that I faced many years ago with contrast. I think I can have MRI without contrast, but I don’t know how accurate would be the result.will discuss my concern. All the best,
