HIgh and ongoing liver enzyme elevations

Hi everyone. So on December 4 2018 had bloodwork done all was fine except for my liver enzymes at the time alp 305, ast 70 and alt 90. For 2 years I was a heavy drinker, not uncommon to be out 4 nights a week drinking heavily. Jan 1st of this year I stopped all that drinking and started protein/low carb diet. Jan 23th came down with shingles, went back to by doctor to get that checked out but she wanted to draw my blood again to check enzymes and they went up! Alp358, ast 90 and alt 104. All my blood test and levels are completely normal. She sent blood back for liver, bone , intestine injection tests? All normal. Went for liver ultrasound this morning and have not heard from doctor. I am freaking out here. I don't feel sick or anything. Could the shingles virus at the last blood draw have caused a rise in my levels? Worried that they saw something on ultrasound as no call from doctor on it. Just came here for some support as I really am terrified here.

Try not too worry. High ALP is not normally related to heavy drinking AST and ALT are more likely to be affected. If there was anything seriously wrong with your ultrasound you would have had a call. Best thing would be to get a referral to a hepatologist and they can check for gallstone issues or autoimmune problems. Call the British Liver Trust helpline and talk it over with them. In the meantime try and relax livers are very forgiving. Best of luck

Hi . You were so nice to reply to me in my post . I wanted to fill you in that they did find a tumor in my liver, it’s small and benign. I assume this is the reason for my spiked alp levels. Any advice on how to lower those levels Sammie?
