I'm just finding out that my fatty liver has deteriorated to NASH. I'm trying to lose weight, watch carbs and fats, but other than that, what can I do?

Now what?
Hi Fighter, I don't know that much about NASH only what I read real quick just now. I know from having an acute attack of hepatitis that nuts, potato chips, anything fatty, processed foods, lunch meats and high carb are bad for you. I've also read that there is no cure, just handling the problem so that it doesn't progress. Just put NASH into your search bar and you'll be overwhelmed with information. I hope this helps.
First off don't put Nash into your search bar ... So much bad information out there .. you can't just cut down fat, salt, and convenience foods you have to stop eating them completely ... Keep your weight down, keep fit and don't panic!!
Plenty on here live with Nash and some have even turned it around, dependant on the cause but I am sure they will figure that out over time ... But for now don't fall apart, don't Google and change your lifestyle food and exercise x
Have a read at the British Liver Trust page about NAFLD and NASH @ britishlivertrust.org.uk/li... I would seek referral to a liver specialist dietician to give proper individualize dietary advice to suit your own specific needs.
All the best, Katie
I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in about may last year and finally diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis just after Christmas. I am also a type 2 diabetic and the diets for each condition are very different. I requested a referral to a dietician months ago and finally saw her today. If I were you I'd ask your gp to refer you to the dietician. I'd been low carbing before my diagnosis and lost 35lb in 3 months but apparently causes stress to the liver. My hepatologist told me to never fast. I hope you get the appropriate advice soon. Deb
