Thankyou for your advice American democrat

I just wanted to thank American democrat for her invaluable advice about dealing with restless legs. I was nearly going crazy as my restless legs were stopping me from going to sleep plus it's a horrible sensation. She asked about my ferretin level as if they're very low it can make restless legs worse. My ferretin was 12 which is really low so I started taking iron sulphide as I was anaemic too. I am now able to sleep at night and don't fall asleep as soon as I sit down during the day. Thanks again for your suggestion A. D.

Deb, you can’t imagine how happy I am to hear this news!! People used to laugh at Restless Legs (due to the funny name), not understanding that it is absolutely debilitating. Sleep is the most important thing for health and life; without it, one can go crazy and can’t cope, right? You and I are both lucky that low iron/ferritin caused our RLS, because there is an easy fix! (For 75%, there is no real cause and no easy fix.) If you have trouble with the iron pills, let me know, as I have some other suggestions. Thanks for your very sweet post, and again, I am thrilled for you!! 🌺

Phoenix - I saw a post yesterday (I think) from someone else who mentioned restless legs. Did you see? I’ll try and find out who it was!

Hi

Can you give suggestions for iron intake other than pills? My daughter does not have RLS but cannot take pills for iron deficiency.

Debs that’s so cool, I remember when you first mentioned restless legs! I thought it was a joke till I discovered democrat - the effect was shattering (tribute to Smirnoff - but I shouldn’t really mention vodka 🤫, - and of course to our American friend 😁)

Seriously though Debs that’s great news. Sleep tight 😀

Miles

Clarify - I meant tribute also to americandemocrat!!

Kind of you, Miles. Hopefully, Deb is sleeping soundly right now! 😴

Hi Deb,

My Mother-in-Law was recommended tonic water for both leg cramps and restless leg. It was suggested she try just a small sip before bed up to a glass sometime in the evening.

She has not had either since she started. She has had several heart attacks, but not liver disease or other things - she's 94 still lives on her own, drives - not much at night anymore lol, only recently gave up bowling because it was bothering her knees and 2 new hips, and still golfs in the summer though she and her partner use a cart.

I should be in as good a shape and active.

Good to hear American Democrat's suggestion worked for you.

Best wishes,

Mary
