I know my husband is struggling to eat and is very tired, but, should I be encouraging him to try and walk a bit more, even around the house, should I take him out for drives, or should I let him just lie down all day? I'm getting to my wits end trying to do what's best for him.

How is his morale? I know that you just want to lie down as life seems so difficult. It’s a pity it’s autumn and will soon be cold. I think anything like a drive or the cinema, where he has to walk a bit is good. I remember going to the cinema and using the very strange open disabled lift as I couldn’t manage stairs very well. However I was trying to put on a brave face and try not to appear as ill as I was to family so I was really pushing myself.
I hope he feels ok in himself.

My husband has stage 4 cirrhosis, his Doctor said belly swelling would be better if he were up as opposed to laying around all of the time
Well, you have the answer. You need to motivate him to get up a bit more. Sending hugs

Thank you, have been out a couple of times for a drive and it does help.
It's hard work isn't it?
