Hello. I am looking for some insight. I got some blood test results on Friday but it has been a long holiday weekend here and I haven't been able to talk to anyone about further testing or anything.
The reason I went in is that I had the symptoms of a minor dull pain in my upper stomach area, just below my sternum. I would say that it is right in the middle, not to the right or left. And alongside the minor pain was 'feelings of hypoglycemia', just feeling like I had low blood sugar. That is the best way I can describe the feeling. Every once in a while for over a week I would start to feel hot, start to sweat, get weak and uncomfortable in my chair. Just like I imagine low blood sugar feels. 10 minutes after I would drink some juice or eat a few pieces of candy I would feel better. Meanwhile, I had this little pain in my upper belly that I would constantly be putting my hand on and poking at it.
I first thought about gallstones. My doctor was not so sure. He was thinking it was an ulcer. My large blood panel, urine test, and breath test were all normal except for 2 things. My glucose was low. It was 59 mg/dl. And my ALT was high; 92 u/l.
Are there any ideas of why these 2 things are out of whack? Who has had these symptoms or these readings together? Does this sound related to the liver? Or ulcers? Or diabetes? I just wondered other people's experience as I am Googling around.
Thanks.
