Itching UNDER the skin on right side of stomach

I have itching UNDER the skin on my right side just below the rib cage. Constant and scratching does not make it go away. It's very aggravating and I'm always scratching my stomach to no avail. Does anyone know what's going on?

Hello there, welcome if you are new to the site. You don,t mention how you fetched up on a liver site, but i presume you have reason to believe the itching may be related to your liver. The itching or puritis, i think that is its correct name, is , or can be, due to the liver being unable to process toxins properly and so they try to escape through the skin resulting in itching. If the liver is allowed to recover its detoxing duties (our livers perform around 500 functions, including regulating temperature, making/storing vitamins etc ) the the puritis should subside eventually. I was alcoholic with Hep C, and after my hep was treated and i stopped abusing my liver with booze i remember it took around six months before the itching stopped. I used to itch/ scratch until i bled it was that bad and nothing helped, although i have heard people say E45 cream from the chemist helped. If you,ve had a blood test your bilirubin level will probally be high. hope this has helped, i am not good at explaining, goodluck MB😊

Well put ,couldn’t of put it better,my itching was on my right leg in two places in particular ,and I’d of signed my soul to the devil for it to stop,there wasn’t nothing that I haven’t tried from antihistamines to rubbing banana skins to using my urine,obvs never left it on,and no it doesn’t work,I just happened to have leg ulcers near the itch,but the only thing that has worked,is eating as much organic food as I could afford and stripping my diet of sugar,salt And all the shit like processed food and cooking from scratch and getting rid of the preservatives and chemicals ,so far so good,touch wood.oh my itching is from liver disease,Be Positive.

When I had this itching I was prescribed colestryamine sachets and Aveeno cream. They helped me and reduced the itching. Good luck.
