Is AIH a critical illness?

Hi, I’ve taken out critical life insurance, prior to my diagnosis.

My question, before I try and make a claim, is AIH classed as a critical illness?

D you have cirrhosis , if so use that as the criteria.

You will need to check the wording of your policy as to what they consider to be a critical illness.

I had that kind of cover and even cirrhosis wasn't considered critical illness, let alone AIH. However once I was put on the transplant waiting list, I was eligible to claim, which I did. You should let your insurance company know as soon as possible though as they can reject any future claims if you don't.
