TIPPS blocked Budd Chiari

Hi all, I had an angiogram 8/6 to widen my stent, unfortunately this could not be completed. The stent is completely blocked. I have since had a meeting with my consultant and he has recommended a second TIPPS. Has anyone else had two TIPPS procedures?

I originally had a TIPPS back in about 2006, but it got blocked. They never offered a second one to me, as far as I remember, as soon as that failed I was told I’d need a transplant. I hope all is going well

Hi

Hope you don’t mind me replying on here this long after you posted. Can I ask what did happen?

My shunt blocked 8 years ago but was doing ok until recently when starting to get ascites again.

They actually managed to unblock the shunt but were talking about a new shunt otherwise. I’ve had a number of clots now and worried it’ll block again and just interested to know what could happen.

Thank you
