Hi everyone my husband came out of theatre yesterday afternoon but they have had to put him into an induced coma as he keeps trying to breath himself with the ventilator on so they have also gave him a paralysis drug they have said that his blood pressure is very high too and they are trying to get it under control I am so worried the nurses said that this happens sometimes with patients has anyone else been through this xx

I was even in a coma before my transplant! Post transplant I stayed in one for 3-4 days. Not sure about the blood pressure thing though. Pls try not to worry. Every case is so different, so personal. I spent 3 wks in icu but you wouldn’t believe it now! If the nurses/drs say it sometimes happen then that’s ok. I don’t know how many transplant they do/yr at QE but you can be sure they’ve seen and been able to manage every eventuality before. Stay strong. Thinking of you love.

Hi Donna.

I had the very high blood pressure after transplant too. My issue was getting my kidneys to work properly. I was in intensive care for 4 days until it normalised, but was out of hospital 8 days later. I'm sure that everything is going to be ok.
