Hi Soso

I had a transplant last June. I was too ill to remember being prepared for it. It took me a few days to come round and I was a bit woozy when I did. However once fully awake I felt well, not really any pain. I got my apitite back slowly but surely and then when I left hospital I got a bit better daily.

There are a couple on here who have had transplants very recently and can tell you about it. I had mine abroad. I hope all goes well for your father. You’re in for a long night - it’s a long operation but everyone on here will be thinking of him, you and your family at this crucial time. Let us know how it goes.

Much love

Isabelle

Best wishes to your Dad, hope his transplant goes ahead and all goes smoothly. It is possible for this to be a false alarm if the donor liver isn't deemed healthy enough for transplant but fingers crossed it does go ahead.

HI

I had a transplant 2 months ago, the first stage is waiting to see if its suitable that can take 9 hours.

Then its wheel you in time, I dont know what happened till I woke up in intensive care, then it is the morphine that can give some strange dreams and visions.

Everyone's journey is then different one thing for sure is each day gets better!

After 3 days I was back on a ward by day 5 I was walking and going to the loo

Take it all as it comes!

Good luck my thoughts and prayer are with you

Wishing your dad well, everyone's transplant is different because their recovery depends on how they were before the transplant.
