Hi Jayden, sorry to hear your ALT has increased but this is not necessarily indicative of liver damage. I noticed from your previous post you considered you weren't going "over the top" with your drinking as, in your opinion, weaker wine was OK!! Suggest you ask your Dr to repeat the Liver Function test in a few weeks and if this is increased again, perhaps further investigation is required. My initial results 3 years ago were not considered cause for concern. However, I now have early stage cirrhosis and I don't drink!! Undergoing treatment luckily.
Hi Jayden, your ggt levels are about as good as you can get, for a normal liver functioning it should be between 50 to 70, so no worries there, your scan will tell the docs how well your liver is functioning, and how much scaring you have, my ggt levels were well over a thousand so lucky to be here, I still struggle with alcohol, but managed to get my levels down to 230, my consultant said if I carry on it will come down to where it should be, as somebody said the liver is an amazing organ and will get better but you have to help it.
Regards Jeff
